| Teal Launch is a launcher, from TealPoint Software of San Rafael, CA, that I've evaluated using my Palm IIIe. In the spring of 1997 Vince Lee, a former Lucas Arts Project Leader and 15-year commercial software veteran, founded TealPoint Software. With 18 software products, some in one or more of six different languages & over 220 folios for Teal info, TealPoint has a Palm OS application for you. TealLaunch is a system extension or commonly known as a hack. which requires TealMaster, a system extension manager to run. Once TealLaunch is installed on your PDA selecting the calculator silkscreen button will launch it. TealLaunch will pop up over the application you are running. The window is divided into two areas. The left is a customizable list of applications. On the right nine customizable buttons to from cut, paste, invert the backlight and m personal favourite, return to last application. TealLaunch makes hopping betweens applications a snap. One of my pet peeves with the Palm OS is, if I was using my Date book & I wanted to find some info in my To do, Memo or any other application it would always involve many buttons to navigate between different menus, applications and more of the same when I wanted to return the application I was originally running. This is one headache that TealLaunch has taken care of for you. Another great feature of TealLaunch is that you can re-map your buttons, a seris of buttons, to perform different functions. TealLaunch give you a choice to have the buttons act normally and differently when TealLaunch window is active. At work I use a Hot Sync cable to connect with my PC. I’ve selected to run a local sync when TealLaunch is active by using the Address button. However if you wish you can really get into button customization by using a combination of buttons, length you hold the buttons and graffiti strokes to a total of 28 different functions. I really enjoyed how easy TealPoint made TealLaunch to use. I only went into a couple examples of what I enjoyed about TealLaunch. I suggest you head to www.tealpoint.com/softlnch.htm and take TealLaunch for a test drive. The .zip file comes with everything you need, including TealMaster to get started. Other Launcher I’ve tried attempted to do too much for my needs. TealLaunch is a great compliment to your application launcher much like how your PDA compliments your desktop. TealLaunch has just been updated here’s some of the new features. Version 2.60 - September 27, 2001
