First off let me just say that Sean D. Evans, President of CanadaPUG is an addict pusher and evil destroyer of personal productivity. If he calls you up and says "Hey, I'll give you a reg. code if you review this game," JUST SAY NO! No 12 step programme will save me now.

What can I say about this this game? It is truly amazing. It's your basic shoot'em down and kill'em game that you need every now and then after work (or during). It's fast pace, has great sound and comes with very impressive graphics. Take a look at the trailer (2mb avi file) to get a feel for the game.

The basic premise of the game is that you are a fighter plane flying over the Siberian landscape shooting down enemy fighters, dodging bombs and missiles, strafing enemy bombers, maneuvering through obstacles like icebergs and buildings, and capturing medals that gain you points or POWs that gain you fire power or 'swirling things' that gain you additional fighters. As you shoot more, you gain more (bombs and lives) and you progress through increasing levels of difficulty and varied landscapes. The ultimate level is a secret Siberian complex where a secret weapon is hidden and it is your mission to destroy it.

There are three fighter to choose from, each having a different combination of speed, fire power and shielding. Go to the website where they have a whole story about each of the fighters and fighter pilots.

In fact the website has some great features including a detailed listing of all the hints and tips for playing the game as well as FAQs (frequently answered questions). This is where I found out that you have to tap the calculator button to pause the game. You know - between bouts of addiction.

There is also 2 'dashboard' options. First one has the move left/right controls using the Calendar and Phone buttons, and the fire/screen bomb features using the To Do and Memo buttons. The other uses the Phone button as the move left and the To Do as the move right controls, and the Calendar button as the fire and the Memo button as the screen bomb. The Up/Down buttons are used to move forward and backwards in both cases. But the best way to play is to use the stylus, I find. Using your stylus, your fighter will continuously fire as you drag the plane around. The only time you will use a button is to perform a screen bomb that destroys everything on the screen. Very cool.

One small annoying thing is the registration process. You get a purchase code with your game. After installing, in the register screen, there will be a PDA code. Go to the website and go to the register page, type in the purchase code and the PDA code to get a reg. code sent to you via e-mail. Go to the game and its register screen and type in the reg. code to get the registered version of the game.

I suggest that you install the game directly onto the expansion card. It plays fine on my m505's 16mb SD card that holds all my games. It takes a while to load though, but it's no big deal, since it saves about 1 mb of memory. The other reason to install directly is to avoid going through the registration process several times. If you copy the game to the expansion card, it changes the PDA code. If you copied it to the expansion card and then deleted the original on the heldheld, it changes the PDA code on the expansion card again. If the PDA code changes, the reg code does not work. I found this out the hard way and had to 'register' three times.

Overall a very good game that will keep you busy but unproductive for hours.
