A Physician's Nightmare
by Nikkii WangI'm an emergency medicine physician in Dallas, Texas. I carry all my emergency medicine treatment protocols, drug information, and notes in my Palm III. Last week, I was trying to intubate a morbidly obese male who had gone into cardiopulmonary arrest when I heard a crunch sound. Amidst the frenzy of the resuscitation, my Palm had fallen out of my pocket, onto the floor.
Not only was it crushed beyond recognition, it was drowned in blood and vomit!
