With the holiday season upon us it was decided that this month would be an open meeting.  Members were free to discuss what they wanted with whom they wanted.

Sean attended the recent Palm Champions seminar and came back with a few interesting tidbits.

• There should be a working Bluetooth SDMC module available within the next 60 days
• Some of the modules that we were shown during the July Palm Canada visit are now in prototype mode and could be available within 6 months.  These would include a voice recorder, MP3 player, GPS, and digital camera.
• Biometrics released their fingerprint scanner.
• Palm should be moving to the Arm processor within the next year.  This is pretty exciting as it will open a whole new world for the Palm user.  Multimedia and multitasking.
• 802.11b Sleds are coming out.
• Antivirus software is available from a number of vendors: InnoculateIT for the Palm OS from Computer Associates, AntiVirus 2002 for the Palm OS from Symantec, Viruscan from McAfee, F-Secure Antivirus from F-Secure and BackupBuddy from Bluenomad.
